I had first met Vanessa and Justin in April of 2008, when she emailed me about a photo she had seen from my personal project. A few months passed by, and she told me they had been recently engaged, and if I would be willing to photograph a wedding in New York. Are you kidding me?!?!?! Of course I would! Fast forward to today, and here I am in New York, shooting their engagement session and upcoming wedding in September.
We started our day in Brooklyn.
We then went to Brooklyn Heights Promenade, where Justin proposed to Vanessa.
This was the actual bench Justin proposed to Vanessa on. There was a lovely elderly lady occupying their bench, but she kindly obliged when I asked her if I could borrow the bench for a second. Thank you lovely bench lady.
Vanessa and Justin both attended Saint Francis College, so we had to grab a few shots inside.
Now, the story goes that everyday Justin came in to class, Vanessa would be checking Justin out, but Justin was too pre-occupied with other things to notice her.
Love these subway shots.
Times Square at night is as crazy as people say it is. I've never seen so many people around, especially so late at night.
In California, I don't think I've ever come across a newsstand like the ones I've seen in New York. I really wanted to get a shot of them inside the stand and luckily the owner obliged. Thank you newsstand guy.
Thank you for sharing your lovely city with me guys! I look forward to coming back in September for your wedding!
